How can I even begin to express the essence of Aquamarine gemstone?
Aquamarine has an enlightening presence, with its calming blue, it reminds us of the ocean waters and clear skies. As humans we are endlessly drawn to the natural water, the movements in combination with the colours give us a sense of calm and clarity. We really immerse ourselves in that moment, forgetting our troubles and responsibilities, and allow ourselves to slow down- that is the power this gemstone has. To wear a piece of aquamarine jewelry, is to carry this feeling with you all the time. To remind you of your favourite moments in the waters, and keep them as memories.

The light of this gem comes from the way it is cut, such as the brilliant, radiant or oval cut. As the stone is cut in a way to reflect light and create the most intense sparkle, you can really see and feel the mimic of the blue ocean waves. It almost feels otherworldly or unnatural for us to be able to see this with our own eyes- but we can! That is something to truly cherish.

I use a lot of earth colours in my jewelry works and aquamarine is an absolute favourite for this very reason. I long to be hiking by the mountain lakes, or swimming in the blue sea, and I know many people can relate to this connection with nature and our Earth. I feel a great sense of serenity, which makes me dive deeper into the psychology of blue.
