STOCKHOLM FASHION WEEK '23
In collaboration with xNomad and Next Generation Retail Hub, I was invited to showcase my jewellery brand and business during Stockholm Fashion Week! A big thank you to those organisations for choosing and inviting me to be a part of this event!
With their beautiful industrial interior, our rustic, rough and futuristic jewellery pieces matched perfectly. My first jewellery collection -S83- was presented alongside the project 'IN OTHER WORLDS' which has more of a sculptural, and can be found under 'Biomaterial Projects' in the drop down menu.
I want to be really candid and open about my experience for SFW. I learned a lot from this opportunity, staying resilient and motivation even when things don't go as planned and also learning how to make the best out of every situation. I spent an exhausting amount of energy and time to make this event shine as best as I could, I was truly happy with my outcome! However, the public engagement within the pop-up wasn't successful. There wasn't much traffic which meant there wasn't much of a sales angle either. This made me feel really disheartened, all that work I was doing up to the event, even before that with making new jewellery pieces. Travelling from Oslo to Stockholm, I felt those days went unrecognised and I started to feel unmotivated. But, after allowing myself a few days to process and rest I started thinking about all the things I could have improved on for the next time. Nevertheless, I was and still am very proud of myself to have reached an event like this. I learn to stay positive and inspired and keep reaching out for opportunities because I know slowly but surely, my hard work will pay off and I see the difference (almost) every day.
This is the kind of hardship that comes with starting up a creative brand and doing it on your own. I wish to share more about my experiences and talk the real talk with you, to inspire you and just share the failures with the successes because failures and rejections are important and I face them too!
